My first Bowie gig.
I'd no idea what to expect and even now, get shivers thinking about it.
The excitements builds in the crowd as the intro music plays and everyone is pushing to the front - I'm pretty much dead centre, 2 rows back, all standing. Then the opening notes of Space Oddity start and Bowie ambles on stage singing and smiling.
Seeing Bowie in the flesh for the first time for me was like a nuclear bomb going off in front of my face!
I wasn't even aware of the screen in front of the stage - so when I the giant Bowie appeared on that, I nearly lost my mind. I had heard there was a screen but the size of it was so big, your brain took a minute to comprehend what was going on.
Presentation wise, I still think this was the greatest show I've ever seen. On the one hand so simple but on the other, utterly epic...
And the set list, well... who could argue with the hits! Especially when it was the last time to hear them...
