| Locator for the virgin King, but I love you in your fuck-me pumps, and your nimble dress that trails. Oh, dress yourself, my urchin one, for I hear them on the rails. Because of all we've seen, because of all we've said We are the dead.

| I would be able to post so many lines of my favourite lyrics here, but to reinforce the power of Bowie I'm going to say "And there's never gonna be enough money, And there's never gonna be enough drugs, And I'm never ever gonna get old"......... Because Bowie will never get old And, pretty much all his lyrics are amazing anyway :3 | |

| There are some my favourite lyrics. And I tell You why.
I will start with Life On Mars?. One of the best and the one of the most important songs ever. The lyrics are for me the metaphor of no understanding, loneliness and desperate everyone's plea (which can be hear in David's voice) who believe in existence of better, different world, difeerent space. And I answer: Yes, there is life on Mars.
If we're talking about Hunky Dory I would say that the most important song on this album is Quicksand, and - for me - contains the most important lyrics which define many subjects of David's future material, mostly thru the whole 70'. Buddhism, Crowley, occultism and Nietzsche's philosophie is still very deep marked in this song, but - paradoxical - there are not the main subject of this song. Desperate David's searching flooded his into bigger and bigger ignorance and precariousness. Quicksand is very personal song with personal lyrics and I see in it spiritual searching for many questions, about God (but what kind of God), life, faith and death. There is just one sure answer:
Knowledge comes With death’s release
It is NOT a song about which kind of faith is more important, this is the song telling that the one and only solution to live in your quicksand of thoughts is acknowledgement in yourself despair and relief and it's hidden in the most important verse of the song:
Ahhhhh, ahhhhhh, ahhhh, ahhhhhh-ahh-ah-ahhhhh
That's the Quicksand.
The last song on this album is The Bewlay Brothers. It's not just a song about David's brother. A song contains also very deep hidden language of the occult. Let's look on the lyrics:
In our Wings that Bark Flashing teeth of Brass Standing tall in the dark
and
The Bewlay Brothers With our back on the arch In the Devil-may-be-here But He can’t sing about that
David created something more than human existence, he took further steps into looking for different levels of faith and no-faith, he learn about it and - for sure - that helped him a lot consciously step into him alter ego, like Ziggy or Thin White Duke. | |
